On March 27th, 2026, Bowney Initiative brought together 62 beneficiaries for conversations about confidence, safety, learning, and support.

They participants, were encouraged to think about their education and future, and also about their right to feel safe, informed, and supported in their everyday lives.

For over 95%, it was the first time topics like sexual harassment were discussed in a clear and relatable way.

An exciting highlight of the initiative was the incredible role played by alumnae of the program, who eagerly returned to share their own experiences and wisdom with the younger girls. Their inspiring presence sparked conversations filled with trust, relatability, and mentorship, demonstrating to participants the possibilities of support and leadership within their own communities.

The sessions created space for girls to ask questions, share experiences, and talk openly about challenges they face in school and everyday life. They also highlighted the importance of mentorship and creating more opportunities for young girls to connect with women who understand their experiences and can support their growth.

Through projects like this, Changemakers like Grace are helping girls build confidence both in the classroom and in themselves.

At Women Changemakers for Education, we support Fellows & Alumnae to lead community-driven initiatives that respond to the real experiences of girls and young women.

When girls have access to mentorship, information, and safe spaces, they are better equipped to learn, grow, and thrive.
