At WC4E, mentorship is a continuous thread that shapes how Fellows grow and how they, in turn, support others. A recent poll across our Fellows and Alumnae revealed that 100% incorporate mentorship into their work. The experience of Ama Oware offers a clear example of how this takes shape in practice.

On March 31st, 2026, Portia Dumba with support from Women Changemaker's for Education, brought together over 100 girls from 10 schools in Piisi, in Ghana’s Upper West Region, for a day focused on leadership, confidence, and support.

On Friday, 30th January 2026, the Learn To Read Foundation (LTRF), led by Rejoice Adzivor, implemented The Library Access Project at a deprived school in Kasoa, donating 500 copies of storybooks to strengthen literacy and expand access to reading materials.

Behind this movement for change is Saraswati Arthur (Cohort 1), founder of The Reading Factory, who believes in the power of inclusion. For Saraswati, this belief took shape through the 2025 Inclusive Reading and Arts Festival, a program she coordinated with heart, vision, and collaboration.

We are proud to celebrate the remarkable leadership of Portia Dumba (Cohort 3) and her commitment to transforming learning opportunities for children in the Domangburi community.

This year, Women Change Makers for Education (WC4E) reached a beautiful milestone, our 5th anniversary. What began as a vision to empower women in education has grown into a vibrant community of fellows, partners, and friends who continue to dream, create, and lead together.
