Redefining Possibilities for Rural Youth and Girls in Africa
Growing up, I witnessed firsthand the challenges rural youth face in accessing quality education and opportunities. I aspired to create avenues for young people, particularly those in underserved communities, to thrive. My passion led to the founding of The Builder’s Foundation and Mbasiafo Tribe, two initiatives dedicated to redefining what is possible for rural youth in Africa—especially for girls with backgrounds like mine or even more difficult circumstances.
The Builder’s Foundation was born from a simple but powerful vision: to equip young people with the tools, resources, and support they need to succeed while empowering them to improve their communities. Through various initiatives, we have provided rural students with knowledge, skills, and networks that position them for a brighter future.
Similarly, Mbasiafo Tribe started as a small mentorship circle for girls in my community who needed unique guidance to build self-awareness and pursue their dreams. Over time, it has evolved into a supportive space where young girls find inspiration, mentorship, and the motivation to demand more from life. Both initiatives reflect my personal journey and the realization that access to the right support system can be life-changing.
A Transformative Experience with Women Changemakers for Education
My experience with Women Changemakers for Education (WC4E) played an important role in shaping my approach to sustainable impact. The program deepened my commitment to education and taught me how to think beyond short-term projects, focusing instead on building long-lasting organizations that will outlive me.
A major turning point was the grants I received through the WC4E program. These funds enabled me to expand my impact—reaching more young people and implementing initiatives that would have otherwise remained just ideas. Additionally, I was able to invest in key administrative improvements, strengthening the foundation of my organizations for long-term growth.
Impact and Recognition
Empowered over 5,000 rural youth through mentorship, education, and empowerment programs.
Built a network of passionate youth volunteers committed to redefining rural Africa and ensuring that young people in remote areas are not left behind.
Received several award nominations, recognizing the impact of my work in education and youth empowerment.
The Vision Ahead
Looking ahead, my dream is to transform The Builder’s Foundation and Mbasiafo Tribe into sustainable organizations known for advancing social impact. I envision these initiatives becoming pillars of rural transformation in Africa—providing young people with opportunities, resources, and the support they need to drive meaningful change.
More importantly, I aim to create lasting structures that will ensure these organizations thrive beyond my personal involvement. My goal is to see a future where rural youth are not just recipients of aid but active participants in shaping their own communities.
By empowering the next generation, we can redefine what is possible for rural youth in Africa—and build a future where every young person, regardless of background, has the opportunity to succeed.
