Empowering the Next Generation: The Journey of The Academic Success Team (TAS)

Education is a powerful tool for change, yet many young people, especially in underserved communities, face significant barriers in accessing quality education and career guidance. Witnessing these challenges firsthand fuelled my passion for education and youth empowerment, inspiring me to establish The Academic Success Foundation (TAS).

TAST was born out of a commitment to bridging the gap in mentorship, career guidance, and practical skill-building—particularly in entrepreneurship. As the Executive Director, my mission is to drive positive change, equipping young people with the resources, knowledge, and confidence they need to reach their full potential.

The Transformative Impact of WC4E

My leadership journey was profoundly shaped by the Women Changemakers for Education (WC4E) fellowship. The program provided leadership training that strengthened my ability to lead impactful projects and instilled the confidence needed to make a difference.

Through mentorship and guidance, I gained valuable insights that refined my vision for TAS, while the grant support was instrumental in formally establishing the initiative. Additionally, WC4E introduced me to an inspiring network of women changemakers, whose stories and support continue to fuel my passion for creating lasting impact.

Key Achievements and Milestones

Since its inception, TAS has made remarkable strides in empowering young people and communities. Some of our most significant achievements include:

  • Mentoring hundreds of students, guiding them toward informed career decisions and academic success.

  • Empowering 323 women in Sheaga, Bongo-Soe, and Zongoyiri to develop sustainable livelihoods and achieve economic independence.

  • Being recognized as a leader in education development, with opportunities to speak at major platforms, including UNTOC COP12 in Vienna last October.

  • Forging impactful collaborations with organizations like Global Initiative, Africa Career Networks, and the Mastercard Foundation to expand TAST’s reach and impact.

Vision for the Future

Looking ahead, I aspire to see TAS grow into a globally recognized organization, continuing to uplift students—particularly young women and individuals with disabilities—through innovative programs, technology, and strategic partnerships.

Beyond TAS, I am committed to championing policy reforms that ensure equal access to quality education for all. My ultimate goal is to mentor the next generation of changemakers, creating a sustainable ecosystem of empowered learners and leaders.
